The Kings and Queens of the Mardi Gras are selected by our Board and given the “Making a Difference” Award. The selected individuals are long term supporters of our organization and are making a difference in our Autism community every day. This year, ASBH honored two Mardi Gras queens for their volunteerism and dedication to the Autism Society, Connie Tucker and Ronda Feterl of Black Hills Special Services.
Ronda serves as the Director of the BHSSC Autism Project and is a member of the multi-disciplinary diagnostic team that provides regular autism evaluations in Sturgis. Connie is currently a school psychologist assigned to the Douglas School District four days a week, and the BHSSC Autism Project one day a week. Family and co-workers from Black Hills Special Services were on hand to surprise the honorees.
ASBH would like to thank all of our guests for attending our event and a special thanks to our auction donors and sponsors and our wonderful Mardi Gras Committee who helped make this event another great success!
